Research in the fields of cultural studies, and communication, presents researcher with a wide range of interdisciplinary topics, including governance. The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in pursuit of the goals of religiosity and humanization, uses television ownership as a tool of religious governance. Popular Series are one type of television program in this regard.
The purpose of this research is to look at theoretical concepts about governance, religious governance, and maintaining audience attention, with an emphasis on Smart's perspective on the dimensions of "Religion", Hall's "Representation" theory, and the concepts of "Identification" and "Popular series", in order to examine how religious messages, affect the construction of a stereotypical and naturalized subject from the audience.
This research has analyzed the religious sequences of the series "Paytakht 3" using the method of semiotics and purposeful analysis and description. The results show that this series, with features such as continuity and ability to engage the audience, is able to increase the power of governance by enhancement of the audience's sustained attention. The religious sequences presented in the series "Paytakht 3" consist of stereotypical and naturalized structures: 1- The good result of good deeds, 2- The evil result of bad deeds, 3- Direct expression and presentation of practical instructions on religious matters, 4- Promoting belief in the existence of God's power behind all the affairs of the world.
