Summary
Social participation means the active and voluntary participation of individuals in community affairs to achieve common goals and solve social problems. Basij, as a popular institution with a wide network of bases and Basijis across the country, can provide a suitable platform for attracting public participation in solving social problems. This research aims to examine the role of the Basij as a popular institution in increasing social participation and solving society's problems. In this research, using qualitative methods and documentary analysis, solutions such as increasing public awareness, empowering individuals, supporting popular initiatives, facilitating communication between people and officials, and employing young forces are presented. The results show that by strengthening the spirit of participation and social solidarity, Basij can act as a driving force in solving social problems and sustainable development of society.
